Gus Drakopoulos was born in 1976 to two immigrant parents from Greece. Gus grew up in Astoria Queens and started his career in finance as a stockbroker at age 19 and quickly ascended to Vice President of Private Investments at Ladenburg Thalmann. Transitioning from finance to nightlife, he launched Sin City in 2003, a club that would become a New York icon, drawing comparisons to historic venues like Studio 54, The Tunnel, and Limelight. Despite the eventual gentrification-driven closure of Sin City, Gus’ entrepreneurial spirit thrived as he ventured further into the nightlife scene with establishments like Show Palace and the expansion of Sin City to Philadelphia. His dedication to his roots is evident through his significant philanthropic efforts, particularly in the South Bronx, where he has contributed to numerous community enhancement projects.<\/p>\n
